*Note extra tools in the kit besides the round Water Pump Holding tool may only work on some applications. The main tool which is the round Water Pump Holding Tool is similar to the OTC 6616. It is required to hold the timing chain sprocket in position during the removal of the water pump from the backside of the timing cover. Holds Timing Chain in place on 2002 and newer GM EcoTec motors. 2.2L and 2.4L Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Pontiac. No removal of the timing chain cover and timing chain which saves professional technicians and the savvy do it yourselfer tons of time and labor. Special design allows easy application regardless of timing chain orientation. Tool saves costly loss of timing on GM 2.0L 2.2L 2.4L EcoTech motors found in Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Saturn platforms. Works on all Ectotec engines from 2002 to current year. 6616 also works for Saab ecotec engines also that service manuals call for tool number 8396103 (which is discontinued).
