TIME-SERT 1610E2 M6x1.0 Extended Metric Thread Repair Kit

The 1610E2 has been discontinued. Some customers use the 1610 kit with a 16107 insert (shorter tooling, will need to be extended).

BIG-SERT OVERSIZED

If you have a broken bolt at the bottom of the hole the 5812D will also take care of that problem. We now put an oversized BIG-SERT at the top of the head but you must use a larger M8x1.25 grade 8 bolt you can purchase separately at your local hardware or parts store.

This kit is typically used in Mercedes injector clamp bolt thread repair. This is commonly used in Dodge sprinter stripped injector hold down clamp bolt.

This tooling has been used in deep hole repair where the hole diameter is 8mm or .315 inches. 
There is no counterbore included in the tooling as the diameter of the hole will allow the insert flange to set at the bottom of the hole where the original threads start. Drill 6" inches , Tap 4" inches, Driver 4" inches, 5 inserts 17mm length.
Instructions:
Drill:
Drill to the full depth of the hole. 
Tap:
Tap the hole to the full depth.
Driver:
Before installing the insert with the driver tool place the tool in the hole and mark it with an ink marker or piece of 
tape to have a visual aid as to not bottom the tool in the hole.

Use a few drops of oil on driver tool, this can be a 30wt motor oil. Screw the insert onto the driver and into the prepared hole. The driver tool will start to tighten up as it expands the bottom few
threads of the insert locking it in place.
